The Air Jordan 8 was released during the NBA basketball season of 1992-1993. The Air Jordan 8 was released. There was a lot more detail put into the Air Jordan 8. The Air Jordan 8 featured cross-over Velcro - leather straps and came with more foot padding than the rest of the Jordans. The shoe carried more color combinations. The Air Jordan 8 was a heaver based shoe than previous Air Jordan, thus making the sneaker a very hot shoe when worn.
The Air Jordan 8 did not feature a Nike sneakers swoosh on the design. Tinker Hatfield was the lead designer behind the shoe and felt that the Air Jordan brand established enough that it needed its own branding strategy.

The Air Jordan 8 retro high tops sold for $135.00 and the low tops for $110.
