The Air Jordan 7 was released in the 1991-91 NBA basketball season. The Air Jordan 7 stood apart from the rest of the basketball shoes that were released that year. The Air Jordan 7 featured a new sneaker technology called Huarache. This new technology allowed the shoe to stick to your foot. The Air Jordan 7 was lighter than the previous Air Jordans released. The Air Jordan 7 did not feature the Nike Air logo, a air unit or any clear soles like the previous Air Jordan shoes.
The lead designer for the Air Jordan 7 was Tinker Hatfield once again. His influence on the Air Jordan 7 came from Western African tribal patters.
The Air Jordan 7 was worn by Michael Jordan in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Nike released a special colorway for this event. The colorway Nike released was called the “Olympic” colorway for the Air Jordan 7. The “Olympic” colorway version of the Air Jordan 7 featured not the number “23″ on the back of the shoe but the number 9.

The Air Jordan 7 retro was released in December 2002. Nike sneakers released 2 colorways of the shoe that year. The Air Jordan 7 retro retailed for $120. In 2004 the Air Jordan 7 retro was re-released. In 2004 the Olympic Air Jordan 7 retro were released. The Olympic Air Jordan 7 retro colorway sold for $130. In 2006 the Air Jordan 7 retro was released again, 4 colorways were released that year. The retail price for the Jordans were $135 for men and $130 for women.
