Air Jordan 2 released during the NBA season of 1986 - 1987. Just like the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 2 stood out from the rest when it came to basketball shoes that year. The Air Jordan 2 was made with a faux lizard skin which appeared on the side of the shoe, and the Air Jordan 2 shoe was made in Italy. The Air Jordan 2 was the only Jordan shoe that did not come in the black colorway. The lead designers for the Air Jordan 2 were Burce Kilgore and Peter Moore.

Air Jordan 2 was re-released in 1995. That year the Air Jordan retro 2 came out as a high top version and a low top version. The Air Jordan retro 2 shoe was not a big success that year and thus not selling many pairs at full price. In 1995 the Air Jordan retro 2 retailed for $105.00.
