The Air Jordan 6 was released in the 1990-1991 season of the NBA. This year holds a special place for Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan 6 sneaker. In the 1990 NBA basketball season Michael Jordan won his first NBA Championship beating the LA Lakers.
The lead designer for the Air Jordan 6 was Tinker Hatfield. The Air Jordan 6 design featured a rubber tongue with two holes at the top of the tongue and one loop on the back of the shoe. These feature of the Air Jordan 6 allowed people to easily put on there Air Jordan 6 sneakers. On the back of the sneaker you can find a number “23″, thus this was Michael Jordan basketball jersey number. The Air Jordan 6 followed the look of the previous Air Jordan 5 with the clear soles and lace locks. Even though this design style was used on the Air Jordan 5, the Air Jordan 6 still stood apart.

In 2001 the Nike sneaker brand released the Air Jordan 6 retro. Nike released 3 colorways of the Air Jordan 6 retro that year, and each retailed for $120. In 2002 a low top version of the Air Jordan 6 retro was released. The low top version of the Air Jordan 6 retailed for $105. Air Jordan 6 retro also re-released in 2005 in a “Defining Moments Package”. This package came with two pairs of shoes, the Air Jordan 6 retro and Air Jordan 11 retro. The “defining Moments Package” retailed for $295.
