Michael Jordan stated that he would not wear the Air Jordan 1 shoes because he felt they looked like clown shoes. The first original Air Jordan 1 shoe retailed at $65.00.
The Air Jordan 1 shoe stood out from other basketball shoes. Due to the Air Jordan 1 bright colors and the large Nike sneaker swoosh on the side it quickly drew attention. The first colorway of Air Jordan 1 that Michael Jordan wore on the basketball court were the black and red Air Jordan 1. The Air Jordan 1 were banned by the NBA for not matching the on court dress code, thus Michael Jordan had to pay a $5,000 fine each time he decided to wear the Air Jordan 1 on the basketball court.
